Haverfordwest Santa Run 2020
The Haverfordwest Santa Run returns for 2020 despite the difficulties everyone has experienced this year, Santa and his helpers included! Santa and his sleigh will be parading the streets of Haverford-west from the 14th – 17th December from 5pm every day. Whilst COVID regulations restrict meeting Santa face to face, you can join in the festivities from your doorstep and wave to Santa as he goes by!
Haverfordwest Town Council are kindly donating the use of Santa’s Sleigh again and are the main supporters of this year’s Santa Run as an alternative to the Christmas Lights switch on, as sadly that wasn’t able to happen this year. Mayor of Haverfordwest Councillor Alan Buckfield has commented: ‘We are delighted to work with our partners on this event to bring festive joy to Haverfordwest this Christmas with our special thanks to the students of Pembrokeshire College for their contribution.’
Santa visits on the streets of Haverfordwest were brought back to life last year as Pure West Radio teamed up with Alison Tudor, County Councillor for the Prendergast ward of Haverfordwest and local NHS worker, to inject Christmas joy back into the community. Once again, the local community radio station for Pembrokeshire and the Councillor join forces to bring an even better Santa Run to Haver-fordwest with the help of Pembrokeshire College.
The students from Pembrokeshire College have been working on Santa’s sleigh for the past few months to give it some extra sparkle this year. It will boost a new roof, brighter lights, a louder sound system to belt out the Christmas music and comfy seating for Santa and his elf!
As we know this year has delivered the unexpected and especially at Christmas, we all know anything is possible, therefore, to ensure that nothing can stand in Santa’s way to getting round the streets of Haverfordwest this Christmas ‘Millforge Garage’ are once again supporting the Santa Run breakdown assistance. Millforge Garage is a Pembrokeshire based 24-hour breakdown recovery service, they also have car and commercial workshops and an MOT testing station.
The Santa Run 2020 is brought to you by Pure West Radio in association with Haverfordwest Town Council, supported by Pembrokeshire College and Millforge Garage. A special thanks to Alison Tudor for her continued hard work and support towards this annual festive visit by Santa to the families of Haverfordwest.
Funds are being raised for the Mayor’s chosen charities ‘The Pembrokeshire Friends of Prostate Cymru’ and ‘The Maisie Moo Foundation’ for this year’s Santa Run.
