Patients of Neyland and Johnston Surgery reminded to share their views
--
Patients of Neyland and Johnston Surgery are being encouraged to share their views following the resignation of the General Medical Services Contract by the Practice.
The Practice, Hywel Dda University Health Board and the Community Health Council are working together to engage with patients to see how they would prefer GP services to be delivered from November.
The engagement period, which began earlier this month, runs until Friday 2 September. All patients are being written to explain the different ways they can provide feedback, including:
Completing a feedback form at Neyland Surgery of Johnston surgery and local pharmacies
All feedback will be collated and will form an important part of the consideration and decision making by the Health Board on how services will be delivered from November onwards.
The contract resignation follows the planned retirement of a GP partner and several unsuccessful attempts by the Practice to recruit more GPs to work in the Practice.
Patients should remain registered at the Practice and should continue to access services such as appointments and prescriptions as normal. Care will continue to be provided by the same team currently within the Practice until the end of October.
Jill Paterson, Director of Primary Care, Community and Long Term Care for Hywel Dda University Health Board said: “We are committed to listening to and engaging with local populations around potential changes to services at Neyland and Johnston Surgery and we would therefore like to invite patients to get involved in the engagement process.
“We are committed to working closely with the Practice and the Community Health Council throughout this process and will keep patients informed of the results of this engagement exercise.”
