A series of walks has been organised to give people the chance to join in with the celebrations marking 70 years since the Pembrokeshire Coast was designated a National Park.
The 12 free walks, which together account for a total a length 70 miles, will be led by National Park Authority staff and volunteers, giving people the chance see some of the Pembrokeshire Coast’s most iconic locations and learn more about some of its hidden gems.
National Park Authority Chairman, Paul Harries said: “With walking being one of the most popular pursuits enjoyed by residents and visitors on the Pembrokeshire Coast, it’s fantastic to be able to give people the chance to join these walks for free.
“The routes have been carefully selected by Rangers and walk leaders, ranging from two miles to seven miles long. They include a range of coastal and inland routes, such as well-known stretches of the Coast Path as well as areas of the Gwaun Valley and Preseli Hills.
“While people may not be able to join in with every walk, we hope they will be inspired to take on their own 70-mile challenge and discover more of what the National Park has to offer.”
The first walk in the series takes place at Sychpant in the Gwaun Valley from 1pm-3pm on 18 May, while the second will take place on 8 June from 10am-3pm on the Marloes Peninsula.
The remaining walks will be taking place between June and September.
