The thrill and joy of live music will be centre stage in a spectacular outdoor concert on Friday, 13th May in the wonderful surroundings of Scolton Manor.
Organised by Pembrokeshire County Council’s Music Service, the event will involve nearly 100 young musicians plus well-known community groups.
Concert-goers will be invited to bring picnics and blankets/ chairs, sit back, and enjoy a sparkling programme of classical, contemporary and popular pieces.
The young performers are members of Pembrokeshire Music Service’s String Orchestra, Wind Band, and Young Voice groups. They will be performing Dr Who, Viva La Vida, and Great Movie Adventures among many other pieces.
The community groups performing are the Cleddau Chamber Orchestra, Goodwick Community Brass Band and the Pembrokeshire Music Service community choir.
The event is kindly sponsored by Valero and will be compered by Steven Richard-Downes, education director at Pembrokeshire County Council and a former professional singer.
Philippa Roberts from Pembrokeshire Music Service said this is the first time they have organised an outdoor event, and everyone is hugely looking forward to it.
“County ensemble pupils have resumed their rehearsals this term, after a difficult break of two years due to Covid,” she said.
“We are all working hard towards this wonderful evening of music and song and hope it will be a positive celebration of live music for everyone.
“Please bring your family and friends to celebrate with us and make it an evening to remember!”
Refreshments and food will also be available to purchase on site during the concert
Gates open at 5pm for a 7pm start
