Many years ago, Goodwick had a paddling pool located on the seafront, which brought in hundreds of tourists in the summer and was one of the highlights of going to the area. We recently posted the idea of bringing the pool back on our F&G Future Project Facebook page and it had an overwhelming amount of support from the community. As I'm sure you are aware, many seaside towns all over Wales have these pools including Milford, Llandudno and many more.
The site was originally located where the current Ocean Lab is now situated. It was funded by the voluntary ‘Round Table’ club and maintained by Pembrokeshire County Council. It was removed in the late 1980’s by PCC and promised to be replaced with a ‘more modern and safer design’. It has been 30+ years since that promise was made and we are still yet to see the replacement.
We have been told by PCC that in order for the two towns to be considered for their upcoming 'regeneration' project, these ideas must have a lot of support from the community.
This petition is to cast your views and support. Help us bring this attractive and fun idea back to the area!
