‘Prepare a face to meet / The faces that you meet’ (T. S. Eliot)
Judy is an Anglo-Welsh artist and following a successful solo show at the A&D Gallery in London she gave up her job-of-a-lifetime at the Royal Academy of Arts to focus solely on her painting and printmaking. Fascinated with how we interpret each other’s complex emotions she draws her inspiration from the complicated interior worlds we all inhabit. Focusing on the gap between our inner secret lives and the faces we present to the world, Judy explores her intuitions through images that are sometimes colourful, contemporary and figurative and sometimes via the dark and mischievous antics of the crowsand ravens that entrance her. Like a two-headed gold sovereign her work has an instant attraction then gives way to deeper more hidden meanings....meanings, she feels, that subtly engage us all. Judy's etchings and paintings have been shown at many galleries throughout the UK and abroad including: The Royal Academy of Arts, Royal West Academy, A&D Gallery, The Fry Art Gallery, Air Gallery New York, Oriel CRIC and The Mall Galleries. Her work has been featured in magazine articles, on Steve Logan’s CD
covers, bought by celebrities and she’s been interviewed on a BBC1 Art Show.
