Hayscastle Show Committee recently held a presentation evening to hand over a cheque for £800.00 to the charity
Hayscastle Show Committee recently held a presentation evening to hand over a cheque for £800.00 to the charity Cardiac Risk In The Young, this charity was chosen by 2023 Show Presidents Mr and Mrs Griffiths.
Every week in the UK at least 12 young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions. Since its formation in 1995, Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) has been working to reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD). CRY supports young people diagnosed with potentially life-threatening cardiac conditions and offers bereavement.
Hayscastle Show was held last August, we had a lot of rainfall in the morning which resulted in us needing to tow lorries into the field, but luckily by midday the weather began to clear, and a great day was had by all.
We had great success with entries this year in all sections. It was lovely to see lots of people on foot enjoying the food vendors and local stalls.
We would like to thank The show committee, stewards, and judges who worked so hard that day to make sure the day went smoothly.
The Sunday before the show a Service to bless the show was held at Noddfa Newton Chapel, where the collection from here was added to the donations from the gate and entries from the dog show, which amounted to the fantastic sum of £800.00.
Mr and Mrs Mason who are fundraisers for the charity CRY gave a talk on the work that CRY does.
The cheque was presented to them by Marilyn and Martin Griffiths who thanked them for all that they do for the charity.
Hayscastle Show committee are now working hard for next year's show which will be held on Saturday the 10th of August 2024, with a warm welcome for everyone to come along.
