More than one Santa will be parading around Narberth Town Centre
More than one Santa will be parading around Narberth Town Centre on Sunday 10th Dec at 12 noon. They are being marshalled by Narberth & Whitland Rotary to raise funds for the Pembrokeshire Foodbank based in Narberth Town. Last year it was Whitland’s turn but the bi-annual event is back in Narberth this year.
Back in 2019 there was over 120 Santas running or strolling in their red costumes which was a great Christmas treat for the children and adults alike. Judging by the current level of online entries that number may be exceeded this year.
This year the event has very kindly been sponsored by several organisations : Narberth & Whitland Round Table will donate their Sleigh for the morning start at The Narberth RFC; local stores Cost Cutter, Blakemore’s Spar and CK’s Supermarket have donated tins of sweets for the children to have at the end of the run.
President of Rotary, Phil Thompson MBE, commented that: “We are extremely grateful to all of these sponsors and also to Castell Howell who have donated Mince Pies and Mulled wine for the adults who complete the 3Km course through the streets and Parks”
Castell Howell has been a family run business for 35 years specialising in quality Welsh produce and for the past 4 years they have supported Narberth & Whitland for each of their Santa Charity Runs to support the local food banks.
Rules and online entries can be obtained on the website www.nwrotary.org
Banners advertising the event are displayed around town on which a QR code is displayed to access the website. These were generously sponsored by D P Building Supplies Ltd and Revelation Clothing.
Once the entry form has been completed participants are registered and they can pick up their Santa Suits on the morning of the 10th Dec at Narberth RFC from 10.30am. The Run or stroll will start at 12 noon. It is not a race. It is a FUN EVENT.
