Fishguard Celebrates Small Business Week with 25 New Business Start-Ups in 18 Months
North Pembrokeshire Trade and Tourism (NPTT) is marking Small Business Week by celebrating the remarkable growth of Fishguard's business community, which has seen 25 new businesses open in the town over the past 18 months, with two more set to launch this month.
The milestone reflects a growing confidence in the local economy and highlights Fishguard's continuing renaissance as a vibrant destination for both residents and visitors.
At the recent It's Your Pembrokeshire event in Narberth, representatives from NPTT took to the stage to share the story of Fishguard's transformation and the role the organisation has played in promoting the town. NPTT's work has complemented the vision, determination and entrepreneurial spirit of local business owners who have chosen to invest in the area despite challenging economic conditions.
NPTT's promotion of Fishguard can be seen across the county through visitor information points and marketing initiatives that showcase the town's attractions, independent businesses and unique coastal location. This month, Fishguard is also featured in Visit Pembrokeshire's county-wide promotional campaign.
NPTT Chair Andy Linforth said:
"The opening of 25 new businesses in just 18 months is a tremendous achievement for Fishguard.
It demonstrates the resilience, creativity and confidence of local entrepreneurs and shows that our town is an increasingly attractive place in which to live, work and invest. We are delighted to celebrate their success during Small Business Week."
The town's growing reputation has also attracted interest from policymakers. This week, Kerry Ferguson MS, Deputy Presiding Officer of the Senedd, will spend much of a day with NPTT and local businesses to explore opportunities and challenges facing the small business sector, an area in which she has a longstanding interest.
NPTT believes the continued growth of independent businesses is helping to strengthen the local economy, create employment opportunities and enhance Fishguard's appeal as a destination for visitors throughout the year.
