£200 Extra Support for Low-Income Welsh Homes Using Heating Oil & LPG

Low-income households in Pembrokeshire that rely on heating oil or liquid petroleum gas could receive additional support with their energy bills through a new scheme.

A one-off payment of £200 is being made available to help those most affected by rising fuel costs, with funding allocated to Wales as part of wider efforts to ease cost-of-living pressures.

The support is targeted at households currently receiving the Council Tax Reduction Scheme, particularly those who are not connected to the mains gas network and instead rely on alternative heating sources such as oil or LPG.

Pembrokeshire County Council will contact eligible residents directly to invite them to apply. Those who are contacted will need to confirm the type of fuel they use, after which payments will be made directly into their bank accounts.

The scheme aims to provide timely financial relief as energy costs remain high, with residents advised to look out for communication from the council in the coming weeks.
