Sandy Bear Welcomes Coastal Cottages Community Fund Support for Bereavement Services Across Pembrokeshire
Sandy Bear Children's Bereavement Charity is delighted to announce that it has been awarded funding through the Coastal Cottages Community Fund, enabling the charity to continue delivering specialist face-to-face bereavement support for children and young people across Pembrokeshire.
The funding comes at a particularly important time, as demand for Sandy Bear's services continues to grow whilst charities across Wales face increasing financial pressures. The investment will help ensure that children, young people and families experiencing bereavement continue to receive timely, compassionate support within their own communities.
This funding represents far more than financial support. It will enable Sandy Bear to deliver hundreds of future support sessions, provide a listening ear when it is needed most, and ensure that bereaved children and young people have access to the specialist support they deserve.
What makes this partnership particularly meaningful is the shared commitment between Sandy Bear and Coastal Cottages to strengthening communities through collaboration. Coastal Cottages has consistently demonstrated the importance of investing in local people, recognising the positive impact that community partnerships, sport and physical activity can have on wellbeing.
As part of the project, Sandy Bear will also continue its successful partnership with Haverfordwest County AFC, another outstanding community organisation that shares the charity's vision of improving lives across Pembrokeshire.
That relationship has already helped introduce Sandy Bear to thousands of people across the county and beyond. With the continued growth of Haverfordwest County AFC, increasing national exposure and regular S4C television coverage, the partnership is enabling Sandy Bear's message to reach audiences across Wales like never before. Greater awareness leads to greater understanding of childhood bereavement, more conversations, more referrals and, ultimately, more children, young people and families accessing support when they need it most.
