Stori ar Sedd (Story on a Seat) project brings local stories to life across the Eisteddfod region

A unique community arts project, Stori ar Sedd (Story on a Seat), has brought together schools from Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion to celebrate local heritage through creativity and collaboration.

Over recent months, the team at FRAME Pembrokeshire has worked tirelessly to craft dozens of beautiful handcrafted wooden benches, providing the foundation for one of this year's most ambitious community projects.

As a social enterprise, FRAME supports people facing a range of challenges by providing opportunities to develop skills, gain confidence and access meaningful employment, making its contribution to the project especially significant.

As the summer term drew to a close, schools across the Eisteddfod region were busy transforming their benches into colourful works of art, each telling the unique story of its local area.

Through artwork, words and creative design, pupils have celebrated the history, people, landscapes and traditions that make their communities special.

Like the project's accompanying song 'Croeso i Fro'r Garreg Las', Stori ar Sedd spans all three counties, showcasing the power of regional collaboration while encouraging young people to explore and celebrate their local identity.

Now, the finished benches are ready to welcome visitors to this year's National Eisteddfod. They can be found dotted around the Maes, creating a trail of stories from communities across the three counties. Together, they celebrate the creativity of our schools and the rich cultural heritage of the region.

After the Eisteddfod, each bench will return to its school, where it will remain as a permanent legacy and a lasting reminder of local pride, creativity and community partnership.
