Aberglasney's Late Summer Fair will be horticultural heaven for visitors

Plant lovers will be in horticultural heaven when they visit Aberglasney’s Late Summer Fair this September
Aberglasney is set to indulge all your horticultural senses in September when it holds its Late Summer Fair in the beautiful surroundings of the Gardens.
The mansion will be full of Orchids thanks to the Orchid Study Group’s Orchid Festival. The Cloister Garden will be full of plants and produce stalls. There will be talks and demonstrations on horticultural topics as well as workshops on flower arranging and watercolour painting of fruit and flowers.
The weekend-long event, which takes place on 6 & 7 September 2025, will also have stalls selling locally produced food and drink, hot food on-the-go and entertainment throughout the weekend will be provided by a variety of music artists from around west Wales including Nia Tyler, a semi finalist in the recent S4C series Y Llais.
The Welsh Orchid Festival, organised by the Orchid Study Group, will completely take over the mansion and it is an opportunity for visitors to learn about rare species and popular hybrid orchids. Visitors will also be able to purchase orchids, carnivorous plants, orchid companion plants and botanical paintings. 
Helen Scutt, Aberglasney Gardens’ Director, said, “We hope visitors to Aberglasney will enjoy this extra special experience in September. The mansion will be full of Orchids, the Cloister Garden will be full of plants, the North Lawn will be full of music as well as delicious choices of food and drink. This really is an event to tease all your senses.”
The Fair will be open each day from 10am until 5pm. Entrance to the event will be £10 per person with no separate entrance fee to the Gardens. Aberglasney members are admitted to the event free of charge as part of their membership package. Parking will be at the Gardens with additional parking available in adjoining fields. During the weekend children will be able to play in Aberglasney’s new natural playground in Pigeon House Wood which includes a wobble bridge and wooden stepping stones We will also have a trail for younger visitors to find the clues hidden around the gardens.
Amongst those appearing on the music main stage on the North Lawn on Saturday will be Saxy Brass, the Rock Choir and J4. On the Sunday the acts include Carmarthen Ukuleles, Nia Tyler, a recent semi-finalist on S4C’s Y Llais, and No Mean Biscuit will keep visitors entertained.
The Gardens will be a foodie paradise with stalls featuring some of the best west Wales has to offer including spirits, beer, donuts and deli delights,. There will also be on-the-go hot food stalls and Aberglasney’s very own Tearooms with its terrace overlooking the Pool Garden.
