Ysgol Penrhyn Dewi student represents Wales at water polo tournament

A Pembrokeshire student has represented Wales on the national stage as part of the Celtic Dragons water polo team.

Imogen, a Year 11 pupil at Ysgol Penrhyn Dewi in St Davids, travelled to Scotland last weekend to compete in the BMC Cup.

The tournament brings together teams from across the UK and Ireland, with the Celtic Dragons getting off to a strong start by winning their opening two matches.

Despite their performances, the team narrowly missed out on a place in the semi-finals on goal difference, eventually finishing mid-table and showing significant progress from last year’s competition.

There is plenty more to come for Imogen, who will next head to a competition at Millfield before attending a half-term training camp in Greece.

The team will be continuing its preparations as players work towards selection for a future European tournament.
