Local Artist of the Week: CLEIF HARPWOOD
Cleif Harpwood was a member of legendary Welsh band Edward H Dafis (there was no one of that name in the band) from the '70s and '80s. The band has become a huge influence on the development of Welsh rock music and EDM, especially the likes of Gorky's and the Super Furries.
Now Cleif is back recording a new album at Owain Fleetwood Jenkins' StudiOwz in Clarbeston. The album is scheduled for release in July; so far four single have been released from it, all of which will be played this week.
Pembrokeshire musicians who play on it, and who have played with him for some time now, include Lowri Evans, Lee Mason, and members of the Dhogie Band.
The new songs are melodic, memorable, hook laden, and typical classical rock music. Lovely.
