LAOTW beginning Sunday 14th June: PETE BINGHAM

Pete Bingham (aka Pedro Kaldini) who has recently passed away was a talented and prolific guitarist, songwriter, arranger, and promoter.

For several decades he made music with a succession of bands - Kald, Sendelica, The Lost Stoned Pandas, and The Fellowship of Hallucinatory Voyagers - in genres that encompassed psychedelic rock, prog rock, Krautrock, dance, and electronica. His music was always experimental, joyful, and avoided cliche. He loved collaborating in his musical adventures - especially with PWR presenter and fellow musician Colin Consterdine and Hawkwind's Nik Turner.

With Sendelica he ventured beyond our Shire to perform at venues and festivals all over the UK, the USA, and Europe.

Pete was also mainman of Cardigan's biannual Dream of Dr Sardonicus Psychedelic Festival held in the Cellar, Cardigan. People came from all over the world to attend this groundbreaking event.

He will be much missed on the west Wales music scene and beyond. The music played this week is only a small selection of his amazing back catalogue, a catalogue that was also renowned for its artful and imaginative presentation.
