Over 100 Young People Enjoy Free On-Water Activities over the Summer with High Tide Club Partnership

Over 100 Young People In Milford Haven And Pembroke Have Enjoyed Free Access To A Range Of Exciting On Water Activities This Summer Thanks To High Tide Club

Over 100 young people in Milford Haven and Pembroke have enjoyed free access to a range of exciting on-water activities this summer thanks to High Tide Club, a collaborative initiative delivered by the Port of Milford Haven and Paddle West.

The programme was designed to remove barriers to participation and provide local young people with opportunities to experience the Waterway in a safe, fun, inclusive and engaging format including paddleboarding and kayaking. From learning new skills to building confidence on the water, participants were able to enjoy experiences that may not otherwise have been accessible to them.

The initiative reflects a shared commitment to supporting young people, encouraging active lifestyles and fostering a lifelong connection with the Milford Haven Waterway in a safe way.

Sam Booth, Director of Paddle West, said: "We are passionate about making watersports accessible to everyone and giving young people the opportunity to discover everything the Waterway has to offer. Through High Tide Club, we've been able to welcome participants who may not otherwise have had the chance to get on the water, helping them develop confidence, learn new skills and create lasting memories. It has been fantastic to see so much enthusiasm from the young people involved and we're proud to have worked alongside the Port of Milford Haven to make it happen."

Emily Jones, Stakeholder Engagement Executive at the Port of Milford Haven, said: "High Tide Club has been a wonderful example of what can be achieved through partnership working. By collaborating with Paddle West, we have been able to offer local young people free opportunities to experience the Waterway, build confidence and connect with their local environment. We hope the programme inspires more young people to spend time on and around the Waterway and continue exploring the opportunities it provides safely."

Through initiatives such as High Tide Club, the Port of Milford Haven continues to work with community partners to create opportunities that support wellbeing, education and engagement with the Waterway, ensuring it remains an accessible and valued resource for future generations.
