New self-service dog wash opens in Haverfordwest!

A new self-service dog washing facility has officially opened its doors in Haverfordwest, offering local dog owners a quick and convenient way to clean their four-legged friends.

Wash Your Woofer, based at 48 Portfield, Haverfordwest, celebrated its official opening with the Mayor of Haverfordwest, Cllr Randell Thomas-Turner, on hand to officially open the new business.

The facility has been designed to take the hassle and mess out of washing dogs at home, particularly after muddy walks, trips to the beach and everyday Pembrokeshire adventures.

Customers can use a large, purpose-built dog washing area, complete with an easy-to-use digital system which allows owners to select the appropriate shampoos and washing options for their dogs.

The opening marks the culmination of months of hard work transforming the Portfield premises, which has undergone a significant makeover to create a bright, clean and welcoming environment for dogs and their owners.

The idea for Wash Your Woofer came from owner Yazmin Jones and her own experiences of trying to wash her dog at home.

Yaz said: “I wanted to bath my dog and I couldn't get her in the bath, so I was looking around and with prices getting higher at the groomers, the idea came to me. If someone wants a quick and easy way to bath their dog, come in and have a go yourself.”

Yaz says plenty of hard work, long days and late nights have gone into bringing the idea to life, with particular care taken to create a facility that is simple to use and welcoming for both owners and their pets.

With Pembrokeshire offering no shortage of muddy footpaths, countryside walks and beaches to explore, Wash Your Woofer hopes to provide dog owners with an easy solution when their adventures leave their pooches needing a good clean.

Wash Your Woofer is now open seven days a week, from 8am until 8pm.
