NFU Mutual Pembrokeshire Donates Almost £40,000 to Support Five Worthwhile Causes Across the County
NFU Mutual’s Pembrokeshire Agency has donated a total of £39,495 to five local charities through the insurer’s national Agency Giving Fund, reinforcing its commitment to supporting frontline services and community initiatives across the county.
The Agency Giving Fund, now in its sixth year, is part of NFU Mutual’s £4million charitable pledge for 2025, aimed at supporting local and national charities across the UK.
The Pembrokeshire Agency’s nominations reflect the diverse and vital work being done across the county to uplift vulnerable individuals and strengthen community bonds.
Donations of £7,899 each have been awarded to Paul Sartori Hospice at Home, Catrin Vaughan Foundation, Sandy Bear Children’s Bereavement Charity, Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society – The Food Story, and Eisteddfod y Garreg Las 2026.
The money will help deliver the following for the charities:
Paul Sartori Hospice at Home
Supporting specialist dementia care and end-of-life services, enabling over 180 hours of respite care for families in crisis. Sandra Dade, Charity Manager at Paul Sartori Hospice at Home, said: “We are extremely grateful to NFU Mutual and their Pembrokeshire Agency for their continued support. Dementia is one of the fastest-growing health challenges in our community, and this latest donation will allow us to continue to make a real difference to patients and families across Pembrokeshire. NFU Mutual’s ongoing commitment has helped us trial and grow services for dementia care, and this new funding will enable us to reach even more people who need our help.”
Catrin Vaughan Foundation
Funding sensory equipment for children with additional learning needs, including a new sensory room in Haverfordwest and upcoming sensory garden projects. Bethan Vaughan said: “This donation will enable us to continue helping children with additional learning needs in Pembrokeshire in memory of Catrin.”
Sandy Bear Children’s Bereavement Charity
Enhancing therapeutic resources for bereaved children and families, helping them express grief through creative activities and keepsakes. Lee Barnett, Chief Executive, said: “Sandy Bear support children and families at some of the most difficult times they may have to face. Support from NFU Mutual not only supports individuals and families but has a ripple effect reaching far out into the communities that are also impacted by a bereavement. This support will ensure that Sandy Bear and the other charities chosen, are able to help build stronger, resilient communities which has far reaching impact. We are so grateful for support to enable us to continue our work.”
Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society – The Food Story
Continuing educational outreach to school children, including those with additional learning needs, promoting food awareness and rural education. Kathy Wilson, who leads the work of the Food Story initiative, said: “This support allows Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society’s The Food Story to expand our outreach, helping children—including those with additional learning needs—understand the importance of healthy eating and the value of local food. By connecting young people to the origins of their meals, we’re nurturing informed choices and stronger rural communities.”
Eisteddfod y Garreg Las 2026
Supporting community engagement and Welsh language promotion ahead of the National Eisteddfod’s return to Pembrokeshire, fostering cultural pride and inclusion. Betsan Moses, Chief Executive of the National Eisteddfod, said: “We’re deeply grateful to NFU Mutual’s Pembrokeshire Agency for their generous support. This funding will help us bring the spirit of the Eisteddfod to every corner of the county, ensuring that Welsh language, culture, and community pride are celebrated and shared widely in the lead-up to 2026.”
