AERIAL CIRCUS THEATRE SHOW ‘FOREIGNER IN MY BODY’ COMES TO TORCH THEATRE

Artist, Sara Hartel, will bring ‘Foreigner in my Body’ to five venues across Wales this summer, including Torch Theatre, Milford Haven. The show combines theatre, movement and aerial circus to explore Sara’s experience as a trans person, and migrant to Wales, with integrated audio description and captions, for audiences aged 13 plus.

Aerial circus theatre show ‘Foreigner in my Body’ will be making the final stop on its tour at Torch Theatre, Milford Haven this July. The show, which features integrated captions and audio descriptions, explores Sara’s lived experience as a trans person and migrant.

Sara Hartel (they/them) is an exciting interdisciplinary artist, born in Germany and who lives in Wales. Their blend of art forms has attracted new audiences when they mixed gaming with live performance in GORE or incited the audience to riot in Strike Ltd.

‘Foreigner in my Body’ merges aerial circus and theatre with integrated audio description making it inherently accessible for blind and partially sighted people. The creative team behind this one person show includes composer, Frances Bolley, and movement artist, Eddie Ladd.

Sara said “I am so excited to be finally bringing this show, which I have been developing for many years, to audiences in Milford Haven. In a time of growing discrimination towards both migrant and trans communities, it’s important for me to be able to share a semi autobiographical story centered in joy. I am also passionate about the show being as accessible as possible, with integrated captions and audio description for blind, partial sighted, and D/deaf audiences”.
