A Symphony of Schools – Press Release
On Wednesday 8th July, the whole of Milford Haven cluster of schools performed 2 concerts at The Torch Theatre, Milford Haven.
The young pupils from Coastlands, Gelliswick, Johnston, Neyland, Milford Haven, and St Francis Schools, alongside Milford Haven School, performed in bands and choirs. They showcased their talents in a variety of music from films, musicals, pop and even rap. Also taking part was the Milford Haven Cluster Schools Wind Band.
All the musicians came together in a Grand Finale, with nearly 150 young musicians performing together to a wowed audience.
Mr Stephen Thomas, Chair of the Milford Haven Cluster of Schools stated:
“This was a special, special performance that showcased the musical talent that exists across our schools in the Milford Haven area. To see primary and secondary pupils come together to put on such a professional performance was a joy to watch and makes me very proud to be a part of the Milford Haven Cluster. I must give special thanks to all the schools who made the effort to prepare and perform; our young musicians who have given countless hours of practicing and commitment across many years to fine tune their skills, the Torch Theatre for hosting and providing the children an opportunity to perform on the big stage and Mr Sanders-Swale, without who, opportunities like this wouldn’t have been possible for the children”.
Mr Daryl John, Acting Headteacher of Milford Haven School stated:
“It was an honour and a privilege to attend our Cluster Concert and witness so many of our pupils performing to such an exceptionally high standard. The evening was a wonderful celebration of the dedication, hard work and commitment shown by both pupils and staff across our schools.
The concert highlighted the importance of practice, perseverance and working together, demonstrating what our Milford schools family can achieve when we collaborate. It was particularly special to see past, present and future Milford Haven School pupils performing side by side – a powerful reminder of the strong sense of community that connects our schools.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to making the evening such a memorable success. The audience was treated to an outstanding musical experience, and everyone involved should be immensely proud of what they achieved.”
