Sport Pembrokeshire lends a hand at Haverfordwest Tennis Club for Task Force Day
Sport Pembrokeshire supported Haverfordwest Tennis Club this summer as part of its annual Task Force Day 2026, helping to improve the club’s grounds through hedge cutting, weeding and strimming.
The initiative, once again kindly sponsored by Valero, saw members of the Sport Pembrokeshire team volunteer their time to carry out essential maintenance work at the club, helping to enhance the environment for players, coaches and visitors.
Matt Freeman, Sport Pembrokeshire Manager, said: “It was fantastic for the Sport Pembrokeshire team to support Haverfordwest Tennis Club as part of our annual Task Force Day. The club has gone from strength to strength in recent years, with both junior and senior membership growing significantly through the hard work and commitment of its volunteers and coaching team.
“Haverfordwest Tennis Club has been a valued partner in many of our community and school sporting events, helping to provide opportunities for young people to experience tennis and become physically active. Their involvement in these initiatives has not only benefited local participants but has also created clear pathways into the club, contributing to increased membership and long-term participation in the sport.
“Our Task Force Day is an opportunity for the team to give something back to local clubs that make such a positive impact within their communities. We were delighted to assist with hedge cutting, weeding and strimming and look forward to continuing our strong partnership with the club as it develops further.”
Haverfordwest Tennis Club has played an important role in supporting community and school-based sporting opportunities across Pembrokeshire, helping more people access tennis and fostering participation at all levels of the game.
Hon Secretary Ceri O’Shea welcomed the support provided by Sport Pembrokeshire.
