Music, Community and Coastline Come Together This July Solva Edge Festival returns from 24 to 26 July, bringing three days of live music, literature, and community celebration to the Solva Football Club fields.
The festival opens on Friday with a performance from Gelliswick Community Choir, setting the tone for a weekend rooted in Pembrokeshire talent and community spirit.
Main Stage Highlights
This year’s headliners include:
• The Stickmen Project (Friday)
• Electric Kicks (Saturday)
• UK Foo Fighters (Sunday finale)
They are joined by local favourites Twpsyn, Cardinal Sin and Sunday’s Legends Slot featuring Bjorn to Be, an ABBA tribute guaranteed to get the whole field singing.
Rising stars Stowaway from Ysgol Bro Gwaun, winners of the Pembrokeshire Battle of the Bands, also make their Edge debut.
Shipwreck Stage Acoustic Sessions
The festival’s acoustic stage returns with standout sets from Robyn Benge and Bryony Sier, alongside a full weekend of emerging artists and intimate performances.
Literature at the Edge
This year’s literature programme features:
• Ifor Thomas, reading from his new poetry collection ‘The Undertaker’s Invoice’
• Matthew Raggett, discussing his latest book ‘Crab Salad with Books and Bards’
• Simon Alderwick, sharing work from his Broken Sleep Books collections, written largely in the local landscape.
Storytelling, Wellbeing and Crafts
Festivalgoers can enjoy storytelling with John Roach, on the origins of the Welsh Red Dragon, blending history with hands-on writing and craft activities along with Pilates, and dance sessions led by Viktoriia .
Hands‑on craft workshops include:
• Flower crowns with The Floral Goat
• Pottery design with Mary George
• Mosaics and printing with Penny Dafforn
Outdoors Activities include:
• Coastal Foraging with Ben Macare, PCNP
Get Outdoors Co-ordinator
• Smugglers & Pirates with Gordon Lewis, longtime PCNP Volunteer
• Solva Beach Clean with Ecodewi
Festival Life
The Green Scar Bar returns, serving local ciders, craft beers and classic favourites. Food stalls, makers, artists and family activities run throughout the weekend.
Powered by Passion, Not Profit Solva Edge Festival is run entirely by volunteers from our village, with all surplus funds supporting youth and community groups across the area. Previous beneficiaries include Solva AFC, St Davids Guides, Strength Academy Wales, Simpson’s Cross Activities Group and Roch’s Victoria Hall Association.
