Pembrokeshire U3A Wind Ensemble Birthday Buffet

Our MD, Colin Cunliffe, has just celebrated a special birthday. He doesn’t like to be reminded, but he turn 70 this week. He organised a birthday buffet instead of our more usual rehearsal. This, he said was his chance to thank the people who have made the Pembrokeshire U3A Wind Ensemble such a success.

High on that list was the chair of Pembrokeshire U3A, Mrs Carol Mathews, who gave the go ahead to form the Ensemble two years ago. Mr & Mrs Thomas, The Mayor and Mayoress of Haverfordwest was also invited. Colin explained how the Mayor had always shown an interest in the Ensemble and encouraged us to become the musical support for Haverfordwest civic events. Colin also thanked the town clerk, Mrs Vanessa Lewis Camacho, who organised the civic events and helped the Ensemble to undertake them.

It was a very pleasant afternoon of socialising and meeting people in a very different setting and allowed a great big thanks to be said.
