A recent public meeting held at Ysgol Bro Preseli allowed attendees to be informed of the great progress in raising funds for the purchase of the new football pitch in Crymych. To date, £28,000 has been raised with many additional people pledging to support the campaign. Cris Tomos of the committee, who is also the community assets coordinator at PLANED community developments, gave a presentation about the scheme and noted that there now needed to be a deadline of the 10th of August set to then have a firm target date. There was an opportunity to hear about the latest developments with the purchase of a new pitch for Crymych Football Club. The club was only established in 2019, and since purchasing the club house at Crymych Arms in 2023 is now undertaking a major fundraising campaign to raise £90,000 for the purchase of a new football pitch in the village of Crymych close to the club house. During the recent Welsh Women's football games in the Euro's 2025 the club has now formed a senior's women team and it will be important to have the new picht for all the clubs teams of the new Women's team, 2 senior men's teams and the rapidly growing junior section, which now has over 80 young players.

This new pitch project is being supported by the community charity PLANED, which supports local charities and associations in purchasing and asset-transferring property for community benefit. The football club also has support from the Football Association of Wales in developing the new site.

A Unique Opportunity to Support Local Sport

To raise the necessary funds, the club is inviting individuals to lend £1,000 over three years and then an annual dividend based on the club's and pub's performance. This investment opportunity also comes with the added benefit of 50% tax relief under the Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS), making it a financially rewarding way to support local sports.
