'Labour’s manifesto isn't a new chapter - it's the final chapter in a book the people of Wales have already closed' - Plaid Cymru 

Responding to Labour’s manifesto launch, a Plaid Cymru spokesperson said: 
 
“Labour’s manifesto is not a new chapter. It is the final chapter in a book the people of Wales have already closed.
 
“The people of Wales will rightly be wondering today why, after 27 years in government, many of these promises have not already been delivered.
 
“Their headline pledge focuses on what they will not do rather than what they will do. Promising not to increase income tax is hardly bold when Plaid Cymru has already made clear that we will not raise the Welsh rates of income tax. The difference is that we pair that commitment with a credible and ambitious programme for government.
 
"Labour's numbers on new hospitals simply don't add up. The lack of clarity on plans to expand childcare and deliver 'same day' mental health services is unacceptable for a party that has been in government for so long.
 
“Labour’s promise to end homelessness by 2034 has zero credibility given that they failed to deliver on their previous pledge to end it by 2026.
 
“This election is the most important in the history of devolution, with a clear choice between Plaid Cymru’s hope and Reform UK’s division. Labour is a sideshow.
 
“Plaid Cymru has a clear plan to cut waiting times, raise standards in our schools, roll out universal childcare and strengthen support for Welsh businesses.
 
“Labour’s time is up. Only Plaid Cymru offers the new leadership and ambition Wales needs to fulfil its potential.
