Slade Lane public exhibition proposed building development

As County Councillor for the Castle Ward, it was very interesting and informative to attend the Slade Lane public exhibition proposed building development at HaverHub, Quay Street, Haverfordwest on Tuesday 21.10.2025 where I was able to meet the team from Welsh Government and see the plans in person.

It was also very reassuring to be informed that vehicular accces to the development, during the construction phase and when completed will NOT be gained via Slade Lane, Crow Hill and St Martins Park.

I did suggest that the wording of the development should be changed to The Thomas Parry Way Development, which will be considered as part of the consultation exercise.

The consultation closes on the 31.10.2025.

We are writing to let you know about proposals for a new neighbourhood at Slade Lane, Haverfordwest.
 
The Welsh Government has brought together land and development expertise to create a coordinated Masterplan for this important, strategic site.
 
The draft proposals include:
Up to 600 new homes, with a significant number expected to be affordable, plus possible opportunities for Self Build Wales, SME home builders and community-led housing.
Land set aside for a new primary school, including a nursery.
Potential for a local centre with space for a shop, café, community uses and potentially healthcare.
Play areas, green spaces, wildlife corridors and new walking and cycling routes.

This consultation is an opportunity for local stakeholders and residents to view the draft plans, understand what is being proposed, and share their views before an outline planning application is prepared.

All responses will be reviewed and key themes will be fully considered before any potential changes are made to the masterplan.
