38th Camrose Vintage Working Day 16-08-25

Camrose Vintage

It’s Showtime, again!

This year’s 38th Camrose Vintage Working Day will take place on Saturday 23rd August, 2025 – 10am-6pm

The Chairman, Andrew James, and all the Committee, cannot wait to host the Camrose Vintage Working Day, again, this year…..

The Camrose Vintage Day Show is a great family day out

We have 3 fields, across the Show and the main field has a Show Ring, too

We will soon be able to share a copy of the Programme, so that you can plan your day, across the three fields….keep following us, on Social Media, to find out more…

This is what will be going on this year…

The Main Field:-

New this year – the Gentle Giants & Friends Horses will be demonstrating and giving rides, too. The Towy Valley Axe Racing Team will be giving us demonstrations on how to carve wood with axes

As always, there will be a Falconry Display, Steam Engines on display (and giving rides) & Stephen Hancock will also be given rides in his tractor & trailer, too. Again, you’ll find all this year’s exhibitors in the main field i.e. a special tractor paddock – David Brown/Case/International - as well as all other vehicles and engines - Vintage Tractors, Vintage & Classic Cars and Motorcycles, Land Rover, Military Vehicles, Trucks & Stationary Engines. There will also be a paddock displaying the Pembrokeshire Mud Slinger vehicles, too. There will be sheep shearing demonstrations and the farrier will be showing how to change shoes on horses

There really is something for everyone, of all ages – we’ll have the bespoke tent “Educating Pembrokeshire children” (Food story) to learn where their food comes from, where parents can sit with their children in a safe zone. There will also be a Bouncy Castle for children, too.

Across the field, there will be lots of interesting and different stalls, as well as a bespoke Craft Tent, where you’ll also find Model Displays, too. It will be in this main field, that we will be also hosting our, now very popular, Novelty Dog Show, again. There will also be a very interesting historical exhibition of Camrose and Pembrokeshire, over the years, with particular focus on rural activities

Throughout the day, the main Show Ring will have lots of activities – including the popular Vintage Parade of all the vehicles & the parade of the winners of the Dog Show. This year we plan to have two children’s tug-o-war – one in the morning and one in the afternoon – this is always a focal part of the day watching the fun that children have pulling against either a steam engine or an old tractor

In the main field, of course, this is also where you’ll find our famous Camrose Vintage Working Day food refreshment tent - all freshly made sandwiches, cakes, burgers, sausages, and the such like, and our thanks to the Keyston Young Farmers who will be hosting the beer tent, again, too – so you’ll have lots of time to sit down and catch up with people you might not have seen, for 12 months!

Field No 2:-

This is where you’ll be able to watch the silage/grass demonstrations and the threshing demonstration – this will help you see how threshing worked many years ago, before new technology arrived. It is in this field that you’ll also be able to browse the Auto-Jumble stalls – we’re expecting 20, this year, and they’ll be selling old parts/equipment for vehicles and implements etc.

In Field No 3:-

This is where you’ll be able to watch ploughing, land dressing preparations and seeding demonstrations – these demonstrations will be predominantly using vintage tractors and machinery but we will also have our regular Shire Horses, who will have come down from Abergavenny, to do some ploughing too.

We’re all super proud that this is now the 38th Camrose Vintage Working Day – indeed, if it wasn’t for the Foot & Mouth outbreak (in 2001) and the pandemic (in 2020), it would actually be 40 years since the Show was started. It’s incredible to think this Show was started by a small group of local people wanting to raise money for charities and, at the same time, wanting to demonstrate (to the Public) how the farming community had to make crops for the winter months to feed all the animals. This has now grown and grown to what the old and the new committee have made it today….

All of the money, made on the day, gets shared out to local charities and, to date, the Committee have raised and donated in excess of £265,000!

Over the years, we’ve also had lots of generous sponsorship to help with the ongoing costs of the Show. Out thanks go to all of them, past and present - this year, even more companies have stepped forward to generously help our Show.

This year, again, our main sponsor is

Prichard Holdings Ltd.

And last, but by no means, least – once again, we have to recognise and appreciate that, without our army of volunteers (from across our community), our Show would simply not happen - be that helping and supporting in the organisation of the Show, the setting up, working on the actual day and/or the helping clear up. Our sincere thanks go to every single one of you!

In signing off, ahead of this year’s Show – we do hope you can come along and help us make this Show, yet again, a big success – we hope you have a great day out and, at the same time, we thank you for helping us to help so many charities, now and into the future! Quite simply, this is what the Camrose Vintage Working Day is all about!
