New Media Bill

Old radio regs and code is out of date. Media bill replaces and has 6 parts.

Support on demand features such as Netflix and Amazon as not really governed.

Reissuing FM under new code. Big gray area on Smart Speaker - not governed. But DAB is governed. Will hopefully put us in good stead for FM license. 102.5 comes up for renewal soon but we will look at community or analogue.

We have good comms with ofcom. Waiting to confirm TX sites for plan approval. Deposit to follow then order with 6 weeks. One month test. July August is aim to launch.

 

 

Best 1st quarter. Big combs. Given away 50+ prizes last 3 months. It attracts new people. People from Essex are contacting us! Listening figures are up.

We’re well above national average.

 

People are reaching out, curious and engaging. Great local content drops into more conversation and more people are hearing about us.

Lots of enquiries from business - never happened before.

 

Not sure if Darren was dropping hints. But he wasn’t. New sales manager.

 

Folly farm coming back. Haven’t sponsored since 2018.
