The DAB countdown begins at Pure West Radio
Pure West Radio is on the threshold of one of the most exciting chapters in its six-year history as it begins the final countdown to its DAB launch later this autumn.
The station is currently in the process of installing five new satellite towers which will enable Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) to be transmitted extensively throughout the two counties of Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire. As well as significantly extending Pure West Radio's listener base, the progression to DAB will create an exceptional radio sound quality.
"This is a very exciting time for Pure West Radio as it means we're now going to be able to continue expanding in so many different directions," said Pure West's director, Toby Ellis.
"Our biggest focus has always been the people who listen to us and who've grown with us since we first launched back in April 2018, and the way in which we're now moving forward is due to the hard work and commitment that this dedicated team has shown."
Pure West Radio currently has a workforce of 13 people, including presenters, producers, journalists and sales personnel. But the radio is also blessed with a voluntary sector comprising over 100 members.
"This hybrid working model of staff and volunteers is one of the main reasons that we're able to keep on delivering such a strong community commitment together with a commercial viability to thrive," continued Toby.
"We're continually looking to re-invest in so many new directions and we're always looking to expand our portfolio. As a result, we're now seeking more people to join our Pure West Radio team."
The three areas which Toby is currently seeking to expand comprise presenting, production and sales.
"I can't tell you how proud I am of the station's achievements since we first began broadcasting on April 4, 2018," concluded Toby. "This year we've already covered over 300 events and we're on target to cover even more next year.
"Our move to DAB will enable more people to remain connected to our platform as we continue delivering interviews, local news, information and of course a whole load of quality music."
Further details on the official launch date will be published by Pure West Radio in the very near future.
