Important update from Milford Haven Round Table regarding the Fireworks Extravaganza on Saturday 7th November.

"As preparations get underway for one of the biggest events in the local calendar, we want to keep everyone informed about temporary parking restrictions and changes to vehicle access.

We're working hard to keep disruption to an absolute minimum, both during the event setup and on the day itself.

TEMPORARY CAR PARK CLOSURES
Please refer to the map below, which highlights the areas affected:

AREA 1
Closed from 4pm on Thursday 5th November until approximately midnight on Saturday 7th November.

AREA 2
Closed from 4pm on Friday 6th November until approximately 10pm on Saturday 7th November.

Visitor parking will still be available as usual on Thursday evening, all day Friday and until 3pm on Saturday at the Tŷ Hotel Car Park (up to 3 hours 8am to 5pm), the car park between Martha's Vineyard and Spinnaker Cafe (up to 3 hours 8am to 10pm), and at Milford Beach Car Park (unrestricted), as well as at the parking areas around Victoria Bridge. All of these spaces are subject to availability.

MACKEREL QUAY - IMPROVED ACCESS ARRANGEMENTS
In previous years, we've had to close Mackerel Quay completely to vehicles during the event. This year, we've listened to feedback from residents and businesses and worked together to agree a better solution.

Rather than closing the road completely, Mackerel Quay (highlighted pink on the map) will operate as a single-lane road, controlled by temporary traffic lights and stewards, from 10am until approximately 10pm on Saturday.

Vehicle access will be maintained for residents and businesses of Temeraire House and Neptune House. Vehicles will be stopped at the traffic barriers at either end of Mackerel Quay, where our stewards will verify access before allowing vehicles to proceed under traffic light and steward control.

Please be aware: Immediately following the fireworks display, there may be a short period of approximately 15 minutes when Mackerel Quay is temporarily closed to ALL vehicles. This is to allow large numbers of pedestrians to disperse safely.

GENERAL ACCESS TO MILFORD WATERFRONT
From 3pm on Saturday 7th November, vehicle access to Milford Waterfront will be restricted to residents, businesses and Tŷ Hotel guests.

A very limited number of disabled parking spaces will be available. Once the available parking is full, further vehicle access will be refused, including to those otherwise permitted to enter.

We'll be sharing further information shortly about our Park & Ride bus service, along with alternative parking arrangements around Milford Haven. Please keep an eye on Milford Haven Round Table's social media pages.

A LITTLE UNDERSTANDING GOES A LONG WAY
We fully appreciate that hosting an event of this scale brings some temporary inconvenience to those who live and work around Milford Waterfront.

Please be assured that we genuinely do everything we can to minimise disruption whilst ensuring the safety of residents, businesses, visitors and everyone involved in delivering the event.

We're particularly pleased to have found a way to maintain access along Mackerel Quay this year, and we hope this demonstrates that we do listen to feedback and continually look for ways to improve.

One final request - please treat our stewards, volunteers and one another with patience, courtesy and respect. There may be short delays, but everyone is working hard to keep things moving safely.

Remember, this is West Wales' biggest FREE-entry fireworks display, organised and delivered by the volunteers of Milford Haven Round Table for the benefit of our community.

We couldn't do it without the understanding and support of the people and businesses around us.

Thank you for your continued support!"
