Local Artist of the Week: GARETH EVANS.

Gareth Evans hails from Haverfordwest and formed his first band, The Cheapskates, when at school there. He currently lives in Cardiff where he works as a music teacher and as a gigging musician.

He has been involved in a number of varied projects as a solo artist and in collaboration with others.

He has performed in a duo with the 'Queen of Welsh Blues', Bella Collins, at many venues throughout Pembrokeshire.

His solo project, Undersound, saw him exploring his interest in electronic music.

Now he has released an album of Jazz standards, mainly instrumental, Gareth is joined on a few tracks by former Van Morrison backing vocalist, Jane Williams. All the tracks played this week are taken from that album.

Gareth, Bella and Jane will all be performing at this summer's Aberjazz Festival in Fishguard, tickets for which are on sale now.
