Local Artist Of The Week: THE GREAT RECYCLE - Sunday 27th September 2026

The Great Recycle is in essence Jerry Evans and a bunch of his pals.

Jerry has always been involved in music in one way or another (he owns the building Black Label Studios is in) and in 2017 he purchased the old Post Office in Haverfordwest and began the process of turning it into the vibrant, volunteer led community arts centre it is today, Haverhub.

Jerry returned there last weekend to launch a new record label he has formed, Skruffy Records, and the first act on that label is his own band, The Great Recycle.

The Great Recycle's album is called The Clown That Confronts and all songs played this week are taken from it. It is available on CD at skruffyrecords.com or to download or stream from the usual platforms.

Jerry's music is a genre spanning one that, nevertheless, often shows his roots in punk rock. There is, as befits the name of the band, a strong sense of ecological concern in the lyrics and a subtle and not so subtle raging at the injustices in the world.
