Newport Town Council

Newport Town Council is pleased to confirm that the public toilets at Parrog will remain open while the purchase of the facility is concluded, ensuring they remain open beyond the original closure date of 31st  March 2025.

Newport Town Council, along with local community groups and concerned residents has been working tirelessly since the proposed closure of the toilets was first highlighted in 2023. The Council has been committed to keeping the toilets open and as a result, they are in the final stages of purchasing the toilets from Pembrokeshire County Council.

Originally, the Town Council secured an agreement to keep the toilets open until the end of March 2025. With the sale process still ongoing, further support was needed to prevent premature closure. Thanks to the support of County Councillor Huw Murphy, this closure has now been delayed, and the toilets will remain open and accessible until the purchase is finalised.

Newport Town Council have always emphasised how important these facilities are for both residents and visitors, particularly in such a popular and scenic location as Parrog. The community has come together over many months to protect this essential service along with the ongoing support from Councillor Huw Murphy and continued funding from Pembrokeshire County Council.
