Pembrokeshire Secures £80,000 in Cycling Tourism Funding
Pembrokeshire is set to benefit from an £80,000 funding boost as part of a £4.5 million Welsh Government investment in cycling tourism ahead of the Tour de France Grand Départ in 2027.
Pembrokeshire County Council has secured the funding for its Discover Pembrokeshire by Bicycle – A Connected Cycling Tourism Experience project.
The investment forms part of the nationwide Croeso i Feicwyr programme, which aims to improve cycling facilities, attract more visitors and support local economies.
Across Wales, 54 projects will receive a share of £3.19 million, supporting improvements such as cycling hubs, bike hire facilities, improved trails and e-bike charging points.
A further £1.3 million will be made available to help tourism businesses and community organisations become more cyclist-friendly, including cafés, pubs, accommodation providers and visitor attractions.
The investment comes as Wales prepares to welcome the Tour de France in July 2027, with Visit Wales also marking the year as the Year of Cycling.
The Welsh Government hopes the improvements will encourage more people to explore Wales by bicycle, boost tourism and create lasting benefits for local communities and businesses.
