Wales Community Food Distribution launches Milford Haven Food Hub with PATCH
--
Wales Community Food Distribution, led by PLANED, is thrilled to have launched its fourth food hub in West Wales in collaboration with PATCH. The project facilitates volunteers to link with local producers and suppliers to have easy access to healthy and great value food.
The food hub in Milford Haven at PATCH Charity Shop on Charles Street opened on Wednesday 30th November, and was well attended by the local community, with live coverage from Pure West Radio and officially opened by Town Councillor Martin Jones.
The WCFD team would like to thank all at PATCH, the volunteers and everyone who joined them at the launch.
The food hub will now be open every Wednesday 12-2pm for anyone to place or pick up their order of fresh vegetables, fruit or salad. The volunteers that run it are always happy to chat about how the hub works, offer suggestions around recipes and would love to hear from the public about what produce they would like to see on offer in future.
Fern from the WCFD team commented “It’s fantastic to be able to partner up with PATCH Charity and our wonderful supplier Fresh and Fruity to offer excellent value, fresh produce to local people”.
PATCH representative Dave Golding said “we are very excited to be bringing this great initiative to the community of Milford Haven”.
Additional volunteers are always needed to support the food hubs, so if you are interested in helping out and would benefit from free training and resources, please get in touch!
Led by PLANED, this project has received funding through the Welsh Government Rural Communities – Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, which is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and the Welsh Government
