Looking for something to do on Sundays during the School Holidays?
Then why not visit the Riverside Library, Gallery & Visitor Information Centre – we’ll be open!
The Riverside Library, Gallery and Visitor Information at Haverfordwest will be open on the six Sundays of the school summer holidays.
The Library offers a wide selection of books for adults and children, including large print, Welsh language and spoken word.
All Pembrokeshire Libraries are participating in the Summer Reading Challenge for children, so why not come along and join in the challenge!
Customers can also make use of public access computers, printing services and wi-fi, or seek Visitor Information.
In addition, the Riverside Gallery currently has two exhibitions on display.
The National Gallery Masterpiece Tour, featuring Hélène Rouart in her Father’s Study by Edgar Degas, forms the centrepiece in an exhibition drawn from the National Welsh Portrait Collection at The National Library of Wales.
The exhibition aims to explore the female form in art, and analyse the theory of the male gaze in portraits, through the eyes of both female and male artists such as Seren Morgan Jones and Sir Kyffin Williams.
This exhibition is part of The National Gallery Masterpiece Tour sponsored by Christie’s.
This runs alongside the Pembrokeshire: Past & Present exhibition, which features items relating to the history and culture of Pembrokeshire. Both exhibitions are well worth a visit.
The Riverside’s opening hours during the summer months are: Mondays to Saturdays 10am-5pm; Tuesdays 10am-7pm.
On the Sundays (24th and 31st July; 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th August) we will be open 10am-3:30pm.
Fishguard Library and Tourist Information Centre (01437 776638), Pembroke Library and Information Centre (01437 776454) and The Riverside (01437 775244) will all be open on Bank Holiday Monday 29th August, 10am-3:30pm.
