Bumper funding awards for Pembrokeshire sports clubs
--
52 Pembrokeshire sports clubs have been successful in gaining funding from the Sport Wales ‘Be Active Wales Fund’ in the past financial year.
The clubs have received a total of £282,000, with grants ranging from £600 to £36,000.
The sports supported include athletics, archery, boxing, bowls, canoeing, cricket, football, golf, gymnastics, netball, rowing, rugby, sailing, surf lifesaving, swimming, stand-up paddle boarding, table tennis and weightlifting.
The funds will go towards a variety of uses; from courses for coaches and purchasing items of equipment to support an increase in membership, to larger projects such as replacement of practice nets at cricket clubs.
Successful applications need to meet Sport Wales criteria around developing the long term sustainability of the club or tackling inequalities.
For support and advice on submitting an application for the next round of Sport Wales ‘Be Active Wales Fund’, please contact Pembrokeshire County Council’s sports development officers Alan Jones or Lois Hilling at sport@pembrokeshire.gov.uk
