Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society elects first joint Presidents for 2025/26
Haverfordwest dairy farmers, Tim and Margaret Johns, have been unanimously elected to become the first joint Presidents of Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society.
Tim & Margaret are third generation dairy farmers and farm at Pencnwc in partnership with their son, Graham. They also grow winter and spring cereals. In total they farm around 550 acres in Castlemorris, Haverfordwest.
Margaret and Tim Johns have had a long association with Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society and the County Show. Margaret has had great achievements over many years in equestrian showing including at Royal Windsor, the Great Yorkshire Show and the Royal Cornwall. She created and still helps to run Castlemorris Equestrian and Pets supplies store from the farm.
Tim thanked the Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society for having faith in himself and Margaret. He said, “Margaret and I work as a partnership. The County Show is a major part of Pembrokeshire and is an integral part of farming in the county. We are looking forward to the year ahead. We have chosen RABI and the Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society as our charities to support over the next 12 months.”
During the Annual General Meeting of Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society, held recently on the Pembrokeshire Showground, Mr & Mrs James Evans were also voted in as Presidents elect.
The 2025 Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society officeholders, announced at the AGM, include Miss Alys Owens who was awarded the role of Ambassador at last year’s show. Alys works for Castell Howell and lives in Haverfordwest. She is an active member of Llysyfran YFC and was Club Secretary last year, for which she was awarded Club Secretary of the Year at County level. She is a cornet player for Goodwick Brass Band.
Adam Thorne, the outgoing Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society President, took the opportunity to thank everyone who had helped and supported him throughout his presidency. During his year as President Adam raised a tremendous amount of money for the Wales Air Ambulance - £3,250 in total.
Pembrokeshire County Show, the largest county agricultural show in Wales, will be held over two days again this summer on Wednesday and Thursday, 20 and 21 August 2025. Everyone is invited to attend the celebration of rural life in the county.
