Fundraiser takes on three half marathons for NHS charity
Kelly Morris has challenged herself to running three half marathons to raise funds for Cancer Services and the Accident and emergency department (A&E) at Glangwili Hospital.
Kelly has already completed the Great Welsh Half Marathon in Pembrey on 16th March and is set to take on the Wales Half Marathon at Long Course Weekend on 28th June and Cardiff Half Marathon on 5th October.
Kelly said: “I am running to raise money for a cause that is close to my heart. My mother-in-law unfortunately lost her battle but received excellent care from the chemotherapy team at Glangwili.
“I feel that I know too many people that are currently undergoing treatment or have fought as hard as possible and unfortunately are no longer with us, but I have friends and family who have received treatment and have beaten cancer. I just want to give something back to a charity that makes such a difference to people in such difficult times.”
Nicola Llewelyn, Head of Hywel Dda Health Charities, the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board, said: “Best of luck to Kelly with her remaining half marathons. We’re so grateful for your support.
“The support of our local communities enables us to provide services over and above what the NHS can provide in the three counties of Hywel Dda and we are extremely grateful for every donation we receive.”
