Roar into Summer with Lions Legends and a Feast of Rugby in Pembrokeshire
Preparations are well underway for a thrilling weekend of rugby in Pembrokeshire this June with the Valero Solstice Sevens rugby and netball event.
The weekend kicks off with an exclusive evening of fun and frivolity with British & Irish Lions legends on Friday, June 20th at the Neyland Hub. This unmissable event sets the stage for the highly anticipated Valero Solstice Rugby and Netball Sevens, taking place at Milford Haven RFC on Saturday, June 21 and Sunday, June 22.
Hosted by the charismatic former Wales scrum-half Rupert Moon, the evening promises plenty of entertainment. Guests will have the unique opportunity to hear first-hand accounts of from iconic Welsh and Lions players: the dynamic full-back Lee Byrne and formidable hookers Ken ‘The Sherriff’ Owens and Robin McBride.
Diners will be treated to tales of triumph and tribulation from their illustrious careers, gaining insights into the highs and lows of international rugby. The evening will also offer a fantastic chance for attendees to pose their own questions to these rugby heroes during an interactive Q&A session after enjoying a sumptuous buffet More than just an entertaining night, this event aims to raise vital funds for Valero Pembroke Refinery’s Charity of the Year, the Maxwell Family Genomics Fund.
By attending, guests will be contributing to a worthy cause through a raffle and auction while enjoying a memorable evening in the company of rugby royalty.
“Rugby and the refinery go hand in hand and we’re thrilled to be able to bring this event to Neyland to launch what promises to be a fabulous weekend of rugby and netball,” said Valero Pembroke Refinery Public Affairs Manager Stephen Thornton.
“Many of the workforce play for local rugby clubs with many more involved in a voluntary capacity and we’re anticipating a lot of interest for the event on Friday and the weekend as a whole,” he added.
