Press Release: “Topographies” a new exhibition opening at the Waterfront Gallery

Opening Saturday 24th October and running until Saturday 14th November, 
“Topographies” is a new exhibition of work by Lawrence Mathias at the Waterfront 
Gallery in Milford Haven. The exhibition explores landscape in many forms, from the 
obviously picturesque to ordinary streets, aiming to bring a fresh viewpoint to familiar 
and unfamiliar scenes. Please join him for the opening event from 2pm-4pm when 
music and spoken word will launch the exhibition, with refreshments served. 
For the exhibition, Lawrence Mathias returns to his hometown for a solo show of 
watercolours and mixed media. Moving to London in the early 1990s, Lawrence has 
made a career of his artwork: collaborating on projects with councils, art organisations, 
businesses and schools, and has exhibited widely from London to Europe and 
elsewhere. 
The exhibition is open Wednesday to Saturday, 10.30am-4pm. 
About the Waterfront Gallery: The Gallery is housed in the Old Sail Loft on Discovery 
Quay, Milford Waterfront, Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire SA73 3AF. One of southwest 
Wales’s leading art galleries, the Waterfront Gallery is a registered charity and home to 
the Wales Contemporary Annual Competition. It is run by artist volunteers who exhibit 
at the gallery on a regular basis.
