The Alexandra Walsh Arts Show on Pure West Radio Sunday 4th October 2026

Settle in for an hour of books, folklore, television and all things arts as The Alexandra Walsh Arts Show returns tomorrow morning!
Historical novelist Neil Denby joins Alex to talk Roman centurions and the competition win that launched his writing career.
Bethan Morgan from SPAN has all the details on the spectacular Haverfordwest Lantern Parade, taking place on 30 October.
Emma Gregory returns with Five Minutes of Folklore, exploring wonderfully creepy Nos Galan Gaeaf traditions – including the terrifying Hwch Ddu Gwta!
TV producer Nick Chalmers joins Alex for a look at October’s new television, including Welsh-set dramas and a new adaptation of Stephen King’s Carrie.
There’s also something new! Alex will be recommending four books for those long autumn evenings – a thriller, a debut, a book that deserves to be better known and a local author.
Plus, Alex rounds up some of the fantastic arts events happening across Pembrokeshire this October.
