Narberth Eisteddfod Fundraising Committee is delighted to announce that it has successfully reached its fundraising target of £8,000.

Excitement is building as the National Eisteddfod approaches, and work begins on the Maes in north Pembrokeshire.

This summer, a series of special celebrations will mark 850 years since the first National Eisteddfod was held, providing an opportunity to celebrate Wales’s rich cultural heritage and encouraging more people to take part in Welsh language events.

Haverfordwest town centre was a hive of activity today (Friday, 27th February) as hundreds of children from Pembrokeshire’s schools took part in a special St David’s Day celebration.

Many cultural sites, castles and monuments across Wales will be free for children to visit next Sunday (14 September) to mark Owain Glyndŵr Day.

Over a thousand local residents and members of Gorsedd Cymru formed a procession through the streets of Narberth over the weekend, to celebrate the visit of the National Eisteddfod in a year's time. This was the largest procession to welcome the Eisteddfod to an area for many years.
