Managing trees affected by ash dieback

Work has been carried out across Pembrokeshire to manage trees affected by ash dieback.
Ash dieback is one of the worst tree disease epidemics the UK has ever seen and there is no treatment option.
Trees affected by the disease become brittle over time with branches breaking away.

Commitment of safeguarding professionals recognised in second Safeguarding Practice awards

The dedication, resilience and hard work of safeguarding professionals across the Mid and West Wales region has been celebrated and rewarded at Dyfed Powys Police Headquarters, Llangunnor, Carmarthen.
The Mid and West Wales Safeguarding Boards for Children (CYSUR) and for Adults (CWMPAS) held its second award ceremony to recognise the contribution key workers from a variety of public sector agencies have played in keeping the most vulnerable children and adults in our communities safe.

Pure West Radio is Prestige Wales Radio Station of the Year

It's been a month of celebrations for the team at Pure West Radio, in Pembrokeshire!
Hot on the heels of the news that PWR has been awarded the licence to broadcast DAB services to west Wales the station has also won a prestigious award and now is Wales Prestige Wales Radio Station of the Year.

Narberth Castle temporarily closed for safety checks

Pembrokeshire County Council has closed Narberth Castle while safety checks are carried out.
A Dangerous Structure report was filed with Building Control earlier this week after fallen stone work was found on the ground and inspection carried out.

Palm oil warning to dog owners

People visiting the Pembrokeshire coastline are being asked to be vigilant to the potential of palm oil washing ashore.
It follows the death of a three year-old dog that is believed to have eaten palm oil at Newgale beach.
