Local Artist of the Week

Dhogie Band was formed nearly 60 years ago by a bunch of schoolbys in Crymych. They still have one original member, John Humfrey of Newport, together with the Hughes boys from Strumble - Edward, Iwan, and Mefin (pictured). Occasional members, for recording purposes or live performance, include Lee Mason (well known as Lowri Evans' musical director) plus Anwen and James from The Guilty (Anwen is John's daughter).

The Miltones are the latest band to be recorded Live in Session with BB Skone at Black Label Studios in Haverfordwest.

Sputnik Weazel, who lives near Carmarthen, is a talented multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter. He previously performed with Folk-Punk pioneers The Men They Couldn't Hang, collaborated on an album with Luke Rhinehart, author of the acclaimed novel The Dice Man, and is also drummer with local outfit the Low Down Dirty Dog Blues Band.

The latest band to record a live session for the BB Skone Show at Haverfordwest's Black Label Studios is The Barti Waves, a four piece acoustic Folk band from the south of the county.

Magnus Martin is a multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter who has been a member of psychedelic prog-rockers Hawkwind for many years. The band is best known for their timeless hit 'Silver Machine'.

Al Davey Jnr., the 'Tenby Troubadour' is well known around Pembrokeshire venues playing as a solo artist performing a mix of Rock and Country. 

Loose Fit is a multi-generational family covers band from the Llangwm and Hook areas (there's a father, son and cousin in the band) that has been performing around Pembrokeshire for a few years now.

Lost Roots began a few years ago as the duo La Loba featuring Tom Jam and Becca Taunton. Now with a new name and expanded to a trio they have been bringing their "Soulful, High Vibe, West Coast Roots" to festivals, such as Unearthed, and venues, such as Druidstone Hotel, all over their home county of Pembrokeshire and beyond with great success.

The Guilty is a tight, energetic, fun, hard rock covers band from north Pembrokeshire which has been in existence for about seven years.
